Routine Duties
- Relieves executive of administrative detail
- Liaison between executive's office and various external entities
- Attends legislative functions and meetings
- Handles complaints and requests from legislators, citizens, and employees
- Attends receptions, luncheons, dinners, and other gatherings
Supervisory Duties
- Sets up and coordinates staff training sessions
- Evaluates the work of assigned clerical and other staff
- Makes recommendations on personnel actions such as employment, promotion, demotion, transfer, retention, and increases for exceptional performance
Administrative Support
- Composes and routes replies to routine correspondence
- Prepares non-routine correspondence as requested
- Assembles information for speeches, staff meetings, and other purposes
- Takes minutes at staff meetings
Office Management
- Planners and arranges travel
- Keeps expense accounts
- Orders office supplies as needed
Technical Skills
- Uses standard office machines and equipment
