Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate admission services information to students and the general public.
  • Answer and direct telephone and email inquiries to the appropriate resources, and sort and distribute mail.
  • Provide clerical support to the Recruitment and Admissions Department.
  • Affiliate with creating weekly and vacation work schedules as well as managing the inventory of all merchandise for recruitment purposes.
  • Maintain an inventory and order of departmental supplies.
  • Affiliate with department budget preparation.
  • Maintain updated admissions information within the Student Success Center.
  • Affiliate with Student Success Center Coordinator in hiring work study students.
  • Complete all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • Associate’s degree from an accrediting institution; or a minimum of two (2) years of proven clerical experience preferred.
  • Both customer service work experience and a commitment to providing excellent customer service.
  • Ability to work 40 hours a week with one evening per week and the potential for additional evening hours during peak periods.
  • Ability to understand the role of student services in a state college setting.
  • A positive student-centered attitude.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Ability to communicate and work with a diverse population.
  • Exhibit sound judgment and discretion in working with students and the general public.
  • Proven experience with Microsoft Office and Windows applications; prior experience using a student system helpful.
  • Ability to work independently as well as with others.
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks at once.
  • Detail oriented.

Physical Demands

This position requires an ability to sit, stand for long periods of time, walk, bend, lift, reach up, stoop, and carry items occasionally in excess of twenty-five (25) pounds. It also requires manual dexterity to operate standard office machines, such as, copier, fax, telephone, and other equipment as necessary.
