ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT - HEALTH SERVICES
About the role
Supportive Concepts for Families, Inc., an Affiliate of Apis Services, is immediately seeking a FULL-TIME Health Services Administrative Assistant to join their medical services team in the Carnegie/Pittsburgh area.
Responsibilities
- Communicates regularly with nurses and program leadership for planning and reporting
- Refers incoming calls related to complex medical conditions and high-risk individuals to nurses and program leadership of the region
- Participates in required Nursing meetings
- Participates in interagency and team meetings as needed
- Affords assistance with coordination of health care scheduling for new and current consumers
- Performs tasks as assigned by the VP of Health Services, Health Services Coordinator, and additional tasks as required by program leadership
- Assigned tasks within the Health Services Department
- Filing of records as required
- Documentation as needed
- Maintains a standardized system to monitor consumer appointments and ensures they are completed for all individuals, including:
- The outcome of each appointment
- Checks and balances to monitor the attendance of consumer appointments
- Adds new information to Lifetime Medical Histories as needed
- Special projects as assigned by the Vice President of Health Services and/or Health Services Coordinator
- Collaborates with Senior Quality Health Services Manager to ensure coordination between the program and nursing
Qualifications
- 2-4 years of experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, co-occurring diagnoses of behavioral health and addiction disorders, homeless, community support services, group residential facilities, or similar patient populations
- An HS Diploma is required, with a Medical Administrative Assistant diploma or similar being preferred
- A valid Driver's License is required
Additional Requirements
- The candidate must pass a Criminal Record History Clearance, FBI background check, and possess a valid PA Driver's License
- The candidate must pass a Physical & Drug Screening and demonstrate the ability to attend and successfully complete all sponsored trainings
