Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain all sacramental records in the Parish sacramental registers and ParishSoft.
  • Prepare sacramental certificates and fulfill outside requests for sacramental certificates.
  • Cookordinate and maintain office record keeping system for the department, including, but not limited to, Parish Religious Education Program, Sacramental Preparation, Catechists and Volunteers, Catechetical workshops and events, etc.
  • Prepare weekly catechists’ materials as needed.
  • Fulfill instruction of the Director of Faith Formation including, but not limited to, family mailings, and event material preparation.
  • Attend and assist the Wednesday evening Children’s Faith Formation Program, Sacramental Preparation workshops, retreats and Vacation Bible School (VBS).
  • Work collaboratively with the Director of Faith Formation to plan and evaluate current and future events.
  • Available to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Minimal travel may be required.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Publisher and Excel.
  • Be able to set priorities and organize work effectively.
  • Possess excellent communication and people skills.
  • Be an active member of a Roman Catholic faith community.
  • Honor and maintain confidentiality.

Languages Skills

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, vendors, employees, and the public.

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
