About the role
The Department of Health Professions is seeking a part-time Administrative Assistant to support the Dietetics and Health Services Administration programs.
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support for the Dietetics and Health Services Administration programs by assisting faculty and program leadership with daily operations, coordinating travel, purchasing, and expense processing.
- Maintain student, academic, and program records.
- Support admissions and degree-tracking processes.
- Assist with accreditation documentation.
- Help coordinate program events and activities.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of office administration practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel, along with excellent computer and data-entry skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Effective accounting/bookkeeping knowledge.
- Outstanding written, verbal, and telephone communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, follow through on tasks, and maintain strict confidentiality.
Conditions of Employment
- Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background check.
- This is a part-time wage position working up to an average of 29 hours per week over the course of a calendar year with no benefits.
- After accepting employment, new hires are required to complete an I-9 form and present documentation of their identity and eligibility to work in the United States. James Madison University uses the E-Verify system to confirm identity and work authorization.
Pay
Pay rate: $16.83 per hour.
