About the role

The Department of Health Professions is seeking a part-time Administrative Assistant to support the Dietetics and Health Services Administration programs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support for the Dietetics and Health Services Administration programs by assisting faculty and program leadership with daily operations, coordinating travel, purchasing, and expense processing.
  • Maintain student, academic, and program records.
  • Support admissions and degree-tracking processes.
  • Assist with accreditation documentation.
  • Help coordinate program events and activities.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of office administration practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel, along with excellent computer and data-entry skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Effective accounting/bookkeeping knowledge.
  • Outstanding written, verbal, and telephone communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, follow through on tasks, and maintain strict confidentiality.

Conditions of Employment

  • Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background check.
  • This is a part-time wage position working up to an average of 29 hours per week over the course of a calendar year with no benefits.
  • After accepting employment, new hires are required to complete an I-9 form and present documentation of their identity and eligibility to work in the United States. James Madison University uses the E-Verify system to confirm identity and work authorization.

Pay

Pay rate: $16.83 per hour.
