About the role
The Administrative Assistant Bilingual, Migrant Education supports the program administrator by performing a variety of intermediate-level office, secretarial, and administrative tasks.
Responsibilities
- Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, including emails, letters, and faxes.
- Manage scheduling and coordinate meetings for the program administrator.
- Prepare reports and documents as needed, ensuring accuracy and compliance with policies and procedures.
- Assist in maintaining files and records, including organizing and updating databases.
- Support the administrative functions of the program, such as budget management and procurement.
- Provide administrative support during special events and programs.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Education and Experience: Any combination of education, training, and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be: High School Diploma and three (3) years of experience including no less than two (2) years progressively responsible clerical, administrative, secretarial, and/or technical experience; OR Associate’s Degree and two (2) years of experience including no less than one (1) year progressively responsible clerical, administrative, secretarial, and/or technical experience.
- Licenses and Certifications: Possession of an appropriate, valid California Driver’s License with evidence of insurability.
- Demonstrated proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking Spanish by passing the MCOE Spanish Language Competency Test.

Desirable Qualifications: Experience in a public education environment. All foreign transcripts must be evaluated by a CTC-approved agency to determine the equivalent U.S. degree and major, and the Foreign Transcript Evaluation must be attached to your application before your application will be considered. NOTE: Year-to-year grant funded Bilingual Required.
