About the role
We are looking for a detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to support daily office operations in Herndon, Virginia. This contract opportunity with permanent potential is ideal for someone who is comfortable working across Microsoft Office and Google Workspace while managing a wide range of administrative tasks. The right candidate will bring strong organizational skills, sound judgment, and the ability to keep reports, expenses, and vendor-related activities accurate and on schedule.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate day-to-day administrative activities to help the office and operations teams run efficiently.
- Prepare, format, proofread, and revise reports, correspondence, and other business documents with a high level of accuracy.
- Manage vendor-related communication, maintain records, and assist with follow-up to support ongoing business needs.
- Review, track, and process expense reports while ensuring completeness and proper documentation.
- Enter and update information in internal files, spreadsheets, and shared systems with careful attention to detail.
- Answer inbound calls, respond to routine inquiries, and direct requests to the appropriate team members.
- Provide administrative support to operations staff by organizing materials, handling scheduling needs, and assisting with office coordination.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of office or administrative support experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Experience using Google Workspace tools such as Docs, Sheets, and Gmail.
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to draft and edit clear, accurate reports and documents.
- Demonstrated accuracy in data entry, recordkeeping, and expense report management.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, stay organized, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong phone etiquette and experience handling inbound calls.
- High attention to detail and a dependable, team-oriented work style.
