About the role

The Operations Specialist provides administrative support in the day-to-day coordination, development and execution of strategies that drive growth and improvement in the critical area of account retention, carrier management and client service development. The Operations Specialist participates in variety of projects based on the needs of the business.

Responsibilities

  • Works closely with operational leadership to coordinate strategies and manage employee efficiency and client delivery.
  • Provides administrative support to help streamline day-to-day business operations.
  • Aids in project communication and documentation regarding status of projects.
  • Aids in overseeing and managing tasks related to project completion.
  • Helps drive company-wide programs and processes.
  • Helps to identify training needs and provides input on training approaches and content.
  • Provides customer or client service as needed.
  • Aids in the review, revision and implementation of departmental procedures and workflows to keep pace with technology advancements, industry or market changes and/or compliance related issues.
  • Under the direction of Operations Leadership assists with training and cross training platforms on applicable agency management systems.
  • Collaborates with Operational Leadership to facilitate the execution of new and updated contracts for carrier appointments.
  • Performs other projects, duties, and tasks, as assigned.

Requirements

  • A High School Diploma or its equivalent required.
  • A Four year degree preferred.
  • Three years’ experience in the insurance industry or other related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills are required to maintain effective relationships with clients, team members, production staff, carriers, vendors and others.
  • Experience with insurance markets, products, services, insurance ratings and underwriting procedures preferred.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (primarily Excel and Word).
  • Must be computer literate with the ability to learn new software applications.
  • Self-motivated with a high level of drive, energy, persistence and initiative.
  • Proactive, committed, has high standards, achievement oriented, does what it takes to get the job done.
  • Must be able to understand written and oral communications and interpret information written within policies.
  • Ability to work independently with limited daily supervision and to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to function effectively under tight time constraints, consistently meet strict deadlines, prioritize, and handle multiple tasks in a demanding work environment.
  • Enthusiastic, dependable, highly motivated and detail oriented.
  • Hands-on, open minded, proactive team player.
  • Customer focused, high integrity, excellent work ethic.
  • Excellent customer service skills are a must.
  • Willingness to adhere to all principles of confidentiality.

Qualifications

  • Valid Driver’s License may be required depending on location.
