Administrative Assistant
About the role
The Administrative Assistant supports the clinical operations of Dialysis Clinic, Inc. (DCI), a leading nonprofit provider of kidney care services. DCI's mission is to prioritize individualized care for patients facing chronic kidney disease, emphasizing collaboration and compassion among care teams.
Responsibilities
- Serves as the Medical Record Practitioner for the satellite clinic, ensuring proper maintenance, security, storage, and destruction of patient medical records.
- Answers the phone, forwards calls, takes messages, greets patients and visitors, and directs them to their appropriate destinations.
- Maintains billing information for in-center and transient patients, verifies insurance, obtains pre-authorization when required, keys daily flow sheets, generates reports, balances charges, and checks entries for accuracy.
- Aids AR personnel in collecting accounts and notifying patients about delinquent accounts.
- Verifies patient status daily (hospitalizations, missed treatments, etc.), prepares new patient packets, and assists with clerical tasks as requested.
- Collaborates with the Nurse Manager, Area Operations Director, and clinical staff to ensure smooth operations.

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Three to six months related experience and/or training.
- Familiarity with medical terminology is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Pay
Compensation starts at $19 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
Schedule
Full-time, three 12-hour shifts starting at 5am.
Skills
Knowledge of HIPAA, excellent communication skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel are essential.
