About the role

The Administrative Assistant supports clinical operations at Dialysis Clinic, Inc. (DCI), a leading nonprofit provider of kidney care services. DCI's mission is to prioritize individualized care for patients facing chronic kidney disease, and the Administrative Assistant plays a crucial role in ensuring that this mission is upheld through administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the Medical Record Practitioner for the satellite clinic - knowledgeable of HIPAA and ensures proper maintenance, security, storage, and destruction of patient medical records.
  • Answers the phone, forwards calls, or takes messages.
  • Greets all patients and visitors and directs them to their appropriate destination.
  • Creates memos, correspondence, reports, and other documents as requested.
  • Maintains the billing information for all in-center and transient patients. Verifies patient insurance and obtains pre-authorization when required.
  • Keys daily flow sheets, generates reports, balances charges, and checks entries for accuracy.
  • Aids AR personnel by notifying patients about delinquent accounts and collecting accounts as requested.
  • Verifies patient status daily (e.g., hospitalizations, missed treatments).
  • Prepares new patient packets for new admissions and transient patients.
  • Assists the Nurse Manager, Area Operations Director, and clinical staff with clerical work as needed.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Demonstrated clinical excellence.
  • Desire to collaborate with care teams.
  • Ability to problem solve.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three to six months related experience and/or training.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology is preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Pay range from $20-$30 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
  • Schedule: Part-time, 20 hours/week, flexible shift start time.
