Administrative Analyst I/II/Senior - Water Treatment Plant
About the role
The City of West Sacramento is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Administrative Analyst I/II/Senior to support the daily operations of the Water Treatment Plant. This position serves as the primary administrative and resource for plant operations, helping ensure compliance with federal, state, and local drinking water requirements while maintaining accurate operational, financial, and regulatory records.
Responsibilities
- Coincides with regulatory reporting systems
- Tracks water quality data, sampling schedules, and laboratory results
- Prepares compliance reports for agencies such as the EPA, State Water Resources Control Board, Regional Water Authority, and other regulatory bodies
- Maintains records required for audits, inspections, and water quality assurance programs
- Provides critical administrative support to plant supervisors and staff by managing correspondence, coordinating meetings and training sessions, processing invoices and purchase orders, tracking chemical usage and inventory, and supporting budget monitoring and procurement activities
Requirements
The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple regulatory deadlines in a fast-paced, highly regulated operational environment. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to accurately compile and submit technical and compliance reports are essential to success in this role.
Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates with experience working in a water treatment plant, water utility, environmental compliance program, laboratory environment, or similar regulated public utility setting.
Skills
Experience preparing, compiling, and submitting regulatory compliance reports including Electronic Annual Reports (EAR), water quality reports, water loss audits, sampling reports, and other state/federal reporting requirements.
