About the role
The Weekend Receptionist contributes to a joyful and vibrant community by receiving and directing visitors, employment applicants, sales persons, employees, residents, and family members to appropriate locations and parties.
Responsibilities
- Welcomes visitors in person or on the telephone.
- Interacts with visitors, residents, and staff in a joyful manner that contributes to the community’s vibrancy.
- Provides information to inquiries in support of marketing and sales efforts.
- Maintains employee and department directories.
- Operates the company phone system to receive and connect incoming calls to the proper party.
- Maintains the telecommunication system by following manufacturer’s instructions for house phone and console operation.
- Maintains a safe and clean reception area.
- Performs related clerical work such as data entry, filing, sorting, and distributing mail.
- Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Checks bathrooms (cleanliness, toilet paper, paper towels, spills) every 2 hours.
- Vacuums lobby and theatre daily and maintains cleanliness (dusting, picking up clutter, spot-cleaning floors).
- Enforces appropriate security procedures.
- Maintains hallways (clean and free from clutter) every 2 hours.
- Checks and distributes faxes.
- May conduct preliminary screening of employment applicants.
- Attends and participates in required meetings and trainings.
- Stays current on all system-assigned tasks and duties.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic computer knowledge and ability, with an aptitude to learn company applications.
- Good organizational and verbal/written communication skills.
- Ability to relate positively, effectively, and appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers, and staff.
- Special interest in, and a positive attitude about, working with long-term care residents and the elderly.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Pass a criminal background and fingerprint check.
- Maintain a current food handlers card.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and overtime.
- Ability to creatively problem-solve in resident care.
- Maintains a clean, neat, comfortable, and safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
- Meets all mandatory health requirements by State regulations.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Experience working with Memory Care or Senior Living highly preferred.
- Experience working with Canva required.

Schedule
Saturday–Sunday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM, with occasional weekday hours for training or on-call to cover shifts as needed.
