Job Description

The Chemical Engineering Department at Worcester Polytechnic Institute is seeking part-time adjunct faculty to teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses. Positions will be filled on an as-needed basis with start dates varying by course and semester.

About the role

Adjunct Teaching Faculty will teach courses in the Chemical Engineering curriculum, including on-campus, off-campus in a corporate setting, and online delivery. All topics in Chemical Engineering are of interest. Applicants should identify which courses align with their expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Chemical Engineering
  • Teach courses in various formats including on-campus, off-campus in a corporate setting, and online
  • Teach a variety of topics within Chemical Engineering
  • Identify and apply expertise to specific courses within the curriculum
  • Teach according to established course outlines and syllabi

Requirements

  • Hold an advanced degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline
  • Prior teaching experience and/or industry experience is valued

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines

Benefits

Compensation: $8,000–$10,000 per course

Pay

$8,000–$10,000 per course

Schedule
