Adjunct - Respiratory Care
Instruction & Student Learning
The Adjunct position teaches assigned courses as scheduled. They design curriculum embracing diversity, fostering talent in students, and modeling inclusive teaching strategies. They consider individual student differences to design and support a range of appropriate learning activities. They identify students with academic or other needs and respond by utilizing appropriate resources. They use technology appropriately and communicate clear expectations regarding its use to students.
The Adjunct keeps accurate and appropriate records in accordance with departmental policies, including maintaining attendance records, determining and submitting grades, and communicating progress feedback to students throughout the semester. They distribute and maintain accurate syllabi that incorporate departmental, college, cross-college, and instructor requirements. They conduct classes punctually and in accordance with the prescribed meeting schedule. They employ appropriate assessment techniques to measure students' performance in achieving course goals and objectives.
The Adjunct engages in periodic meetings with the department, Lead Instructor, and Chairperson to discuss teaching duties and professional development.
Student Engagement & Advisement
The Adjunct creates a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages active and collaborative learning, student effort, academic challenge, student and faculty interaction, and support for learners. They use technology to assist in communication with students and encourage a sense of community among students for learning both inside and outside the classroom. They refer students to appropriate student and academic support services available at the College or in the community.

Pay
$56.88 per contact hour
Contact Hour: Two hours equals one contact hour

Part time
