About the role
The adjunct faculty member will teach Intro to Psychology at Kirkwood Community College's Linn County Regional Center in Hiawatha, teaching 3 credits per semester.
Responsibilities
- Provide face-to-face instruction in discipline
- Work with other faculty members to develop a course syllabus and consistent assessments
- Communicate with department staff, students, and faculty on a regular basis
- Evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback on a regular basis
- Utilize the Kirkwood Learning Management System to post course syllabi and relevant documents and provide access to the student grade book
- Regularly engage in professional development activities and actively seek information about developing trends and ideas
- Perform other related work duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in psychology or counseling; OR master’s degree with a minimum of 12 credit hours in psychology or counseling
- Previous experience in face-to-face instruction at a community college
- Prior use of a learning management system

Schedule
The adjunct faculty member will teach Intro to Psychology at Kirkwood Community College's Linn County Regional Center in Hiawatha, teaching 3 credits per semester. The section will meet Tuesday/Thursday, 7:30 – 9 am, August 25 th – December 11 th .
Pay
The adjunct rate is $1,314 per credit hour. For a 3-credit course, the pay would be $3,942.
