Adjunct - Principles of Marketing
About the role
Kirkwood Linn County Regional Center seeks a skilled and enthusiastic individual to teach MKT-110 Principles of Marketing in Hiawatha for Fall 2026, with the potential for future assignments.
Responsibilities
- Be able and willing to deliver courses in variable delivery times, methods, and locations as required by the college.
- Effectively organize, prepare, and teach assigned courses in accordance with established syllabi to students with varying backgrounds and abilities and adjust teaching techniques accordingly.
- Evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback on a regular basis.
- Utilize the Kirkwood Learning Management System to post course syllabi and relevant documents and provide access to the student grade book.
- Communicate with department staff, students, and faculty regularly.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in marketing, advertising, public relations, or business administration, or a master’s degree in any field plus 12 graduate semester hours in marketing, advertising, public relations, or business administration.
- Experience teaching at the college level.
- Demonstrated commitment to the mission of a comprehensive community college.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
Qualifications
- Experience working with students or previous training experience is preferred but not required.
- Available to teach face-to-face at the following times: August 25th – December 11th, Tuesday and Thursday 7:30 am – 9:00 am.
Skills
- Possess the ability to organize and present various concepts to a wide range of students with varying backgrounds and abilities and adjust teaching techniques accordingly.
- Prepare for, attend, and facilitate all classes and finals as scheduled.
- Establish and maintain good working relationships with students, colleagues, staff, administrators, and the general public.
- Respond to students and to their work in a civil and timely fashion.
Benefits
The position involves working in a classroom setting. Occasional (10-33%) sitting, pushing, pulling and grasping. Frequent (34-66%) reaching and viewing a computer and other types of close visual work. Constant (67-100%) standing, walking, repetitive motion, talking and hearing.
Pay
$1,314 per credit hour of instruction. MKT-110 is a 3-credit-hour course.
Schedule
Teaching times: August 25th – December 11th, Tuesday and Thursday 7:30 am – 9:00 am.
