Adjunct Pool - Instructors in Physics
North Central College seeks qualified candidates for an adjunct (per-course) faculty position in the Department of Chemistry and Physics, College of Arts and Sciences. This posting establishes a pool of instructors for future lecture and/or laboratory sections of Physics.
About the role
The appointment is made on a course-by-course basis, contingent on program needs each semester. This is a non-benefits-eligible, fixed-term position with no tenure eligibility.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in physics, engineering, or an associated field (preferred)
- Master’s degree with college-level teaching experience (considered)
Pay
Budgeted salary range: $1,680 – $2,860 per course. Actual pay will reflect the candidate’s experience, qualifications, internal equity, and external market rates.

The Department of Chemistry and Physics is housed in a $60 million Science Center (2017) and a new Health Sciences and Engineering building (2020). North Central College is a nationally recognized institution of about 3,000 students located in Naperville, IL, a thriving suburb 30 miles west of Chicago.
