North Central College’s Kinesiology Department maintains an adjunct pool for undergraduate courses in Exercise Sciences and Kinesiology. Instructors typically teach one or two in-person 4-credit courses per semester, develop assignments and assessments, grade student work, and hold office hours. Appointments are semester-by-semester, renewable contracts for up to 8 credit hours; a terminal degree is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Deliver course content aligned with stated learning outcomes
- Design assignments and assessments
- Evaluate and grade student work
- Hold office hours to support student success
Requirements
- Master’s degree in a related discipline or a concentration in the discipline at the time of appointment (all degrees must be from an accredited institution)
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior higher-education teaching experience
- CSCS, ACSM-CEP, or other health and fitness certification
- Experience with course-management systems (e.g., Canvas)
