Adjunct Pool for Exercise Sciences and Kinesiology

North Central College’s Kinesiology Department maintains an adjunct pool for undergraduate courses in Exercise Sciences and Kinesiology. Instructors typically teach one or two in-person 4-credit courses per semester, develop assignments and assessments, grade student work, and hold office hours. Appointments are semester-by-semester, renewable contracts for up to 8 credit hours; a terminal degree is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver course content aligned with stated learning outcomes
• Design assignments and assessments
• Evaluate and grade student work
• Hold office hours to support student success

Requirements

• Master’s degree in a related discipline or a concentration in the discipline at the time of appointment (all degrees must be from an accredited institution)
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior higher-education teaching experience
• CSCS, ACSM-CEP, or other health and fitness certification
• Experience with course-management systems (e.g., Canvas)
