Adjunct (per course) Instructor - Politics and International Affairs

The School of Politics and International Affairs at the University of Illinois Springfield seeks adjunct (per course) instructors for occasional teaching needs.

Minimum Adjunct Teaching Requirements

• Undergraduate programs: Master’s degree or higher in the discipline or subfield. If the degree is in a different discipline, a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in the discipline or subfield is required.
• Graduate programs: Terminal degree determined by the discipline, with a record of research, scholarship, or achievement appropriate for the graduate program.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned courses in Politics and International Affairs.
• Complete mandatory annual employee training, including Ethics and Preventing Harassment & Discrimination.
• For online courses: Successfully complete the Building Digital Community (BDC) self-paced course during the first semester of online teaching to remain eligible for future online assignments. BDC is offered free of charge through the Center for Online Learning, Research and Service (COLRS).

Pay

The minimum compensation for adjunct (per course) teaching at UIS ranges from $2,700 to $3,600. Pay is based on the number of courses previously taught at UIS and whether the instructor has earned a terminal degree.
