Responsibilities

  • Be knowledgeable of program goals and clinical objectives.
  • Be knowledgeable of the Typhon clinical evaluation system and online learning platform (CANVAS) or have a willingness to learn both systems.
  • Provides clinical and/or laboratory instruction to students in the dental hygiene program.
  • Provides supervision over the student in the clinical/lab setting.
  • Keeps attendance and assigns students in their clinical rotations.
  • Implements the Typhon clinical tracking program during all clinical experiences.
  • Evaluates student clinical/lab skills utilizing the program evaluation forms.
  • Provides constructive feedback to students regarding overall progress.
  • Affords a positive learning environment for student development and success.
  • Participates in the adjunct faculty conferences and dental hygiene program meetings.
  • Participates in the outcomes assessment process.
  • Adheres to contractual obligations.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a CODA accredited education program in Dental Hygiene.
  • Minimum of a Bachelors’ Degree in Dental Hygiene or related area.
  • Current NJ Dental Hygiene license required.
  • Minimum of five years of current clinical experience.
  • Teaching experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Rates and Benefits

  • Adjunct rates range from $950 to $960.
  • The pay rates are $950 for a Bachelor's and $960 for a Master's.
  • Bergen Community College provides tuition waiver for BCC courses for themselves or their dependents.
  • Bergen Community College provides ABP and 403b benefits.
