Adjunct - Nursing (Practical Nursing)
Instruction & Student Learning
The Adjunct - Nursing (Practical Nursing) position teaches assigned courses as scheduled. They design curriculum embracing diversity to foster talent in students while modeling inclusive teaching strategies, considering individual differences to design and support a range of appropriate learning activities. They identify students with academic or other needs and respond by utilizing appropriate resources.
The instructor uses technology appropriately for course objectives and communicates clear expectations regarding its use. They keep accurate and appropriate records in accordance with departmental policies, including maintaining attendance records, determining and submitting grades, and providing progress feedback to students throughout the semester. They distribute and maintain accurate syllabi that incorporate departmental, college, cross-college, and instructor requirements.
The instructor conducts classes punctually and in accordance with the prescribed meeting schedule. They employ appropriate assessment techniques to measure students' performance in achieving course goals and objectives. They engage in periodic meetings with the department, Lead Instructor, and Chairperson relative to teaching duties and professional development.
Student Engagement & Advisement
The Adjunct - Nursing (Practical Nursing) creates a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages active and collaborative learning, student effort, academic challenge, student and faculty interaction, and learner support. They use technology to assist in communication with students and encourage a sense of community among students for learning both inside and outside the classroom.
The instructor refers students to appropriate student and academic support services available at the College or in the community.

Compensation Details
Compensation: $55.88 per contact hour
Contact Hour: Two hours equals one contact hour
Hours: Maximum of 12 contact hours per week
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Nursing
- At least two (2) years of experience in the practice of nursing as a registered nurse
- Current Ohio RN Licensure that is in good standing
- State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s)
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- Prior teaching experience
