Compensation
$55.88 per contact hour
Contact Hour: Two hours equals one contact hour
Hours: Maximum of 12 contact hours per week
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in a closely related field
- At least two (2) years of clinical experience as a registered nurse
- Current Ohio RN licensure in good standing
- State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s)
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
- Prior teaching experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Teaches assigned courses as scheduled
- Designs curriculum embracing diversity, fostering talent in students, and modeling inclusive teaching strategies
- Identifies and responds to students' academic or other needs through appropriate resources
- Uses technology appropriately and communicates clear expectations regarding its use
- Maintains accurate records and submits grades in accordance with departmental and college policies
- Distributes and maintains accurate syllabi incorporating departmental, college, cross-college, and instructor requirements
- Counsels students on academic and personal matters
- Engages in periodic meetings with the department, Lead Instructor, and Chairperson relative to teaching duties and professional development
- Creates a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages active and collaborative learning, student effort, academic challenge, student and faculty interaction, and learner support
- Encourages a sense of community among students for learning both inside and outside the classroom
- Refers students to appropriate student and academic support services available at the College or in the community
