Position Summary Information

Teach assigned courses in a variety of times and locations in response to institutional need. Courses may include online courses and/or dual-credit/early college courses.

• Minimum Qualifications: Associate’s degree in the discipline. Three (3) years of experience as a practicing Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS). Current American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certification.
• Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Demonstrate skill, knowledge and abilities in the teaching discipline. Make continuous efforts to advance the quality of instruction. Develop and use a variety of teaching methods and materials to assist students who have differing educational and experiential backgrounds in meeting the course outcomes. Maintain appropriate professional relationships with students, colleagues and the community.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience teaching at the secondary or college level.

Job Duties

• Demonstrate skill, knowledge, and abilities in the teaching discipline and maintain an environment that promotes learning.
• Provide instruction and evaluate students in the classroom, lab, or clinical settings as needed.
• Develop and use various teaching methods and materials to assist students in meeting the course outcomes.
• Make continuous efforts to advance the quality of instruction.
• Maintain appropriate relationships with students, colleagues and the community.
• Help to advise students as needed.
