About the role
Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) is a nonresidential two-year institution of higher education that serves Central Virginia – principally residents of the City of Charlottesville and the counties of Albemarle, Buckingham, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa and Nelson. Our scenic campus is located in Albemarle County, Virginia. We are one of 23 community colleges in Virginia that comprise the Virginia Community College System (VCCS). PVCC is nationally recognized for its outstanding transfer curriculum; its relationship with its neighbor, the University of Virginia; and its Workforce Development Programs serving local employers.
Responsibilities
- Teach developmental and/or college-level courses, which may include distance-learning courses during the day and evening, on weekdays and weekends. Primarily face-to-face with the possibility of remote instruction.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or Microbiology if relevant
- Two years’ work experience in the medical/clinical laboratory
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or Education
- Medical Laboratory Science National Certification (ASCP or AMT)
- Community College teaching experience
Skills
- Ability to teach in at least one of the following areas: Clinical Microbiology, Hematology, and Clinical Chemistry
