Adjunct (Mass Media)

About the Role

Angelo State University’s Department of Communication and Mass Media is developing a pool of potential adjuncts. Any position available through this posting is a temporary appointment to teach courses in the department, which determines the number and types of courses.

Responsibilities

• Dedication to excellence in teaching
• Preparation of syllabi and course materials
• Delivery of lectures
• Grading and assignment of grades

Requirements

• Master’s degree in journalism, mass media, or mass communication

Qualifications

• Strong mass media and communication skills
• Ability and desire to teach mass media courses in the department curriculum, such as:
  • Writing for mass media
  • News reporting and writing
  • Media literacy
  • Media management

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior college-level teaching experience
• 18 hours in advanced journalism, mass media, or mass communication

Pay

• Master’s degree: $2,584 per class
• PhD: $3,230 per class
