Adjunct Lecturer or Adjunct Assistant Professor - College Now & Early College Program
Job Summary
Bronx Community College (BCC) is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Adjunct Instructor in the College Now & Early College program for the Fall 2026 Semester. The instructor will be responsible for teaching from a variety of disciplines including FYS, a college-level seminar adapted for local Bronx high schools.
About the Role
The instructor will teach in Bronx partner high schools, where students will receive 1 college credit upon successful completion of the course. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to fostering critical thinking, analytical, and college readiness skills of young people in the Bronx.
Responsibilities
- Teach from a variety of disciplines including FYS, English, Math, Theater, Communications, Introduction to Criminal Justice, Stress Management, Art, Psychology, Sociology, Health Care Management, Foreign Languages, Computer Fundamentals and Applications, Introduction to the Internet and Web Development, and Web Programming with Python.
- Nurture college access for diverse Bronx public school students through innovative, engaging, positive youth development, and learner-centered teaching methods.
Qualifications
- Adjunct Lecturer: Bachelor's degree in area(s) of expertise, and the ability to teach successfully.
- PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree in area(s) of experience or equivalent.
- Previous high school/community college/undergraduate teaching experience preferred.
- Ability to teach both in-person and online courses preferred.
- Ability to teach in both daytime and/or evening classes preferred.
- Prior college-level teaching experience within the same discipline preferred.
Requirements
- Must be able to teach in person at their assigned high schools during the Fall 2026 semester.
- Must be able to participate in professional development trainings on the BCC campus, for which they will be compensated, before and after the semester begins.
- Receive faculty mentoring as part of this position.
