Adjunct Lecturer in Spanish

About the Role

The Department of Humanities at Regis College seeks an Adjunct Instructor to teach SP-100: Introductory Spanish for Health Sciences, a synchronous Zoom course held Mondays from 5:00–8:00 PM during the 15-week semester (8/31/26–12/15/26).

Course Description

SP-100 is an oral survival course designed for students with little to no prior Spanish experience (no more than one or two years of high school Spanish). The course emphasizes speaking ability, helping students develop basic communicative competence in Spanish through lessons tailored for health professionals. Students will also learn about the customs and cultures of the Spanish-speaking world.

Responsibilities

• Teach SP-100, ensuring appropriate curriculum design, implementation, and assessment.
• Provide timely feedback to students.
• Hold office hours at least 2 hours/week (via Zoom).

Qualifications

• M.A. in Spanish.
• Fluency in Spanish.
• At least three years of teaching experience; experience teaching Spanish for Health Professions preferred.
• Two letters of recommendation.
• Candidates must be located in the New England region.

Working Conditions

Teaching synchronous online courses with availability during scheduled class meeting times.

Pay

• Master’s degree–prepared candidate: $3,485 per course.
• Doctoral degree–prepared candidate: $3,700 per course.

Please note: Adjunct instructors are not expected to attend school or department meetings, conduct academic advising, or serve on standing committees.
