About the role

This two-unit course examines the current state of Name, Image and Likeness ("NIL") in college athletics, focusing on legal aspects, athlete rights, and institutional practices.

Responsibilities

  • Teach a two-unit course on Contemporary Name Image and Likeness.
  • Examine the legal basis for college athletes' ability to secure NIL.
  • Analyze whether college athletes should be considered employees.
  • Explore the possibility of athletic departments paying athletes directly.

Requirements

  • Business experience in the subject area.
  • Local residency to teach on campus.

Qualifications

  • Experience teaching college-level courses.
  • Strong understanding of legal and ethical issues related to NIL.
  • Ability to engage students in discussions about NIL policies and implications.

Skills

  • Legal knowledge of sports law.
  • Communication skills to explain complex legal concepts to students.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $2,433.66 - $9,984.65 per semester.

Schedule
