About the role

The Engineering Technologies and Applied Design (ETAD) Department at Berea College is seeking an adjunct lecturer to teach ETAD 180: Graphic Communication and Design up to a course load of two courses per semester starting August 2026.

Responsibilities

• Teach ETAD 180: Graphic Communication and Design up to a course load of two courses per semester starting August 2026.
• Introduce students to the principles and theories of graphic design and survey how industry standard software can be used for various forms of visual communication.
• Incorporate the capacities for t-shirt screen printing, vinyl cutting, laser cutting, and digital photography into the class.

Requirements

• Experience with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
• A strong foundation in design principles.

• A letter of interest.
• A curriculum vitae.
• A statement of teaching philosophy.
• Contact information for three letters of reference.
• A portfolio of ten images of previous Graphic Design work.
• Copies of all academic transcripts.

Skills
