About the Role
The Biology Department at Barnard College seeks a part-time instructor to teach the following undergraduate courses during the 2026-2027 academic year.
Course Details
Fall 2026
BIOL BC1501: Intro Lab in Organismal & Evolutionary Biology
All sections occur weekly on weekdays between 9am and 5 pm. The lab associate must also attend a weekly prep meeting on Fridays from 2:30pm to 3:30pm.
Responsibilities
- Teaching, grading lab reports and in-class work
- Responding to student questions and emails
- Working with a team of instructors and staff
- Watching/reading all pre-lab materials
- Attending a mandatory 1-hour preparatory session on Friday afternoons at 2:30pm
The lab's curriculum is set by the department's Introductory Lab Director, Professor Jessica Goldstein. Instructors are typically assigned one undergraduate student teaching assistant per lab section for the entire semester.
Pay
$9,324
Qualifications
- Terminal degree in a related discipline is strongly preferred
