Adjunct Laboratory Instructor, Department of Nursing
Otterbein University, Department of Nursing is seeking applications for individuals to serve as adjunct (part-time) laboratory faculty as need arises for the 2026-2027 academic year (August - May). The availability of these positions is dependent on operational needs including enrollment and staffing.
About the role
These individuals will provide instruction to undergraduate nursing students in relation to BSN program objectives. Responsibilities require the successful candidates to be on campus in Westerville, Ohio, in the Department of Nursing's Otterbein University Simulation & Integration Center (OSIC). Positions are hired for about 8 hours per week for 16 weeks per semester around regular business hours.
Responsibilities
- Planning and supervising student laboratory & simulation learning experiences
- Assessing student progress
- Intentional communication with the Course Coordinator and Director, OSIC
- Recording and reporting as required by the Department of Nursing
- Attending meetings
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in nursing
- Minimum of two years (24 months full-time equivalent) of clinical nursing experience in the United States
- Current unrestricted (no unresolved Board action) Ohio Registered Nurse (RN) license or the ability to obtain one prior to start of appointment
- AHA BLS certification (CPR)
- Successful background check
- Official transcript of highest nursing degree if not earned from Otterbein University
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
- Graduate degree in nursing
- Simulation experience in nursing
- Certification as a Nurse Educator by the National League for Nursing (NLN)
Pay
Salaried rate for each semester commensurate with highest achieved nursing degree.
