About the role
Tarleton State University, a distinguished Doctoral National Comprehensive University, invites applications for the position of Adjunct Instructor - Video Game Design in the Department of Visual Arts and Design.
Responsibilities
- Serves as a Campus Security Authority (CSA).
- Teach up to six (6) semester credit hours in Video Game Design, delivering instruction in person, through approved instructional modalities, or as necessitated by student demand.
- Engage students in active learning, foster critical thinking skills, and provide opportunities for discussion, collaboration, and hands-on learning.
- Provide academic support and guidance to students through office hours, feedback on assignments, and mentoring.
- Adhere to university policies, academic integrity standards, and accreditation requirements related to teaching responsibilities.
- Incorporate innovative teaching methods, technologies, and pedagogical approaches to enhance student learning and engagement.
Requirements
- Earned masters degree in Video Game Design or a closely related field from an accredited university with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.

- Earned doctorate/terminal degree in Video Game Design or a closely related field from an accredited university with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline.
- Previous online teaching experience at the collegiate level preferred.

Other Information
- Adjunct Faculty positions are temporary appointments, assigned per semester and on an as-needed basis.
- These temporary appointments are for the Academic Year 2025-2026 sub-terms.
