About the role

This position is responsible for providing effective instruction for assigned courses.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a safe and orderly learning environment
  • Instructs and guides the class in an efficient and effective manner
  • Maintains accurate records of student work and attendance
  • Prepares thoroughly for each instructional hour
  • Grades and returns student work in a timely manner
  • Counsels students regarding their grades and progress in the course
  • Aids in establishing goals and objectives for assigned courses; provides course feedback and recommendations to the Program Director, SCM
  • Remains up to date on technology and methods of teaching with technology
  • Uses assessment techniques to improve learning and teaching
  • Completes all mandatory adjunct and institutional directed training as assigned by the college
  • Attends professional development opportunities when possible
  • Attends meetings scheduled by the Program Director, SCM

Requirements

  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or related field
  • Must have 5 years' industry experience in Procurement, Purchasing, Logistics, or Distribution
  • Must have 2 years' experience in classroom instruction, on-line or in person
  • Preferred to have a Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management or related field
  • Preferred to have 7-10 years of industry experience in the Supply Chain Management field
  • Preferred to have Community College teaching experience
  • Preferred to have Online teaching experience
  • Preferred to have Online grading experience
  • Preferred to have involvement in professional logistics and/or supply chain management organizations
  • Preferred to have Professional Certification(s)

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of and facility with technology and software including, computers, and web-based resources such as Blackboard/Canvas
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Skilled in proofreading, grammar correction, punctuation, and spelling for written assignments
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Demonstrates resourcefulness, initiative, enthusiasm, and a sincere interest in helping students reach their maximum potential
  • Ability to learn ERP systems such as SAP S/4HANA

Skills

  • Ability to teach online and/or seated classes as assigned
  • Computer skills using basic functions of MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and Outlook and proficient in MS Excel with excellent spreadsheet and calculation skills
  • Ability to use a wide variety of teaching methods to promote learning
  • Be innovative, creative, and motivated
  • Ability to exhibit good interpersonal skills and work well with others
