Adjunct Instructor - School for Community and Economic Development, Davis College

About the role

The School for Community and Economic Development at West Virginia University is seeking qualified part-time Adjunct Instructors to teach undergraduate and/or graduate-level courses on a per-semester basis.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned course(s) in accordance with established course outlines and syllabi.
• Deliver engaging, high-quality instruction aligned with program goals in areas such as community development, rural policy, economic development, civic engagement, nonprofit leadership, or related fields.
• Audit student performance and provide timely, constructive feedback.
• Maintain accurate records of grades, attendance, and course materials.
• Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and administrators.
• Follow university and college policies related to instruction and academic integrity.

Requirements

• A master’s degree in Community Development, Landscape Architecture, Public Administration, Agribusiness, Applied Economics, Regional Planning, Economics, Agricultural Education, or a related field is required.
• A terminal degree or significant professional experience may be preferred for certain courses.
• Prior teaching experience at the college or university level is strongly preferred.
