About the Role
The School of Human Services at UNT Dallas offers three undergraduate degree programs: Public Health, Human Services Management and Leadership, and Child Development and Family Studies. The position supports the Classroom to Career initiative, integrating experiential learning such as internships, service learning, and project‑based collaborations into the academic journey. Faculty are expected to contribute to this transformative campus‑wide effort.
Responsibilities
- Develop lesson plans and deliver instruction for undergraduate Public Health courses, including but not limited to Introduction to Public Health, Program Planning and Evaluation, Health Promotion, Health Policy, and Epidemiology.
- Design and evaluate teaching objectives and student learning outcomes.
- Hold office hours and participate in professional activities as required by the division.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Public Health with outstanding experience teaching Public Health courses, or a Master’s degree in another health professions field with at least 18 graduate hours in Public Health.
- Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in online/hybrid instruction.
- Proven teaching excellence in undergraduate instruction.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret health data.
- Designing and conducting public health studies.
- Assessing effectiveness of public health interventions.
- Effectively conveying health information to diverse audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Doctorate in Public Health (DrPH, PhD) with significant outstanding teaching experience.
- Terminal degree in a specific discipline or a closely related discipline.
- Successful experience teaching adults in a post‑secondary institution.
- Excellent communication skills in multicultural settings.
- Experience teaching and developing online courses in the Canvas Learning Management System (Canvas).
Physical Requirements
- Communicating with others to exchange information.
- Lifting and moving objects up to 20 pounds.
- Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
