About Us
The Department of Public Administration is an interdisciplinary department that houses a Ph.D. in Public Administration, Master’s degrees in Public Administration, and Bachelor’s degrees in Public Administration. We offer a dynamic blend of theory and practice that prepares students for impactful careers in public service.
- Graduate students can pursue a Master of Public Administration (MPA), nationally ranked #6 in Homeland Security and Emergency Management and #10 in Local Government Management by U.S. News and World Report.
- Our Ph.D. program in Public Administration and Management is also nationally ranked, offering a robust pathway for research and leadership.
- Undergraduates may choose degrees in Urban Policy and Planning (UPOP) or Nonprofit Leadership Studies (NPLS), with additional minors and certificate programs in volunteer management and conflict resolution.
- An in-house internship coordinator helps students bridge academic study and professional success.
UNT has a highly diverse campus with a wide range of languages spoken in addition to English. About the Role
The Department of Public Administration seeks qualified individuals for its Adjunct Instructor Pool for the Fall 2026, Spring 2027, and Summer 2027 semesters. Specific courses may vary each semester based on department teaching needs and may include any courses in our undergraduate and MPA programs.
Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications: PhD in public administration or related field of study, or a master's degree in public administration with a strong record of professional work experience.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Earned terminal degree (MPA or closely related field).
- Previous teaching experience at the college or university level, including online instruction.
- Experience using instructional technologies and learning management systems (LMS) to support teaching and learning.
