About the Position

This position is for the Fall 2026, Spring 2027, and Summer 2027 semesters. It impacts the entire undergraduate population and is not affiliated with a specific department. The College of Music enrolls approximately 1,500 music majors, with two-thirds being undergraduate students.

Position Overview

The position involves teaching MUGC 4890, Studies in Music, a new course designed for Pre-Music students who have not been admitted as a music major. The expectation is to provide students in this course information about becoming a music major and options for alternative majors at UNT.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A master's degree in Music or a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours directly related to the assigned course(s)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctorate preferred
  • Experience teaching at the college level
  • An understanding of working with FTIC students who are exploring potential majors
