Adjunct Instructor of Music - Applied Piano/Keyboard

Exempt, part-time adjunct faculty position.

About the role

Bethel University is accepting applications for an Applied Piano/Keyboard Adjunct Faculty member. This role includes private instruction of students as assigned, occasional master classes or workshops, and accompaniment for music ensembles, student lessons, juries, and recitals. Compensation for accompaniment is determined and provided on a semester-by-semester basis.

Responsibilities

• Teach applied piano/keyboard lessons in area of specialization.
• Provide occasional master classes and/or piano workshops.
• Provide piano/keyboard accompaniment for the music department.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in Music Performance, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience teaching in public or private education.

Performance Measurements

• Prompt scheduling and reporting of grades to the music department supervisor.
• Maintain a collegial, professional work environment and attitude when working with students, faculty, and staff.
• Undergo yearly evaluations.

Work involves routine contact with students, faculty, staff, and occasional public visitors or vendors, requiring discretion and courtesy. May occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
