Part-time adjunct positions for up to three instructors in the Department of Mathematics, College of Arts & Sciences, for Fall Semester 2026.

About the role

Teach one or more sections of Math 110 Fundamentals of Mathematics (3 credit hours). Topics include: fractions, exponents, algebraic expressions, factoring, solving linear equations, graphs, and problem-solving.

  • 9:30 – 10:50 AM, Tuesday/Thursday
  • 11:00 AM – 12:20 PM, Tuesday/Thursday
  • 12:30 – 1:50 PM, Tuesday/Thursday

Responsibilities

  • Follow departmental guidelines, syllabi, and policy templates for each course.
  • Develop and implement curriculum aligned with departmental learning objectives.
  • Create and manage course materials using the department-provided textbook, Blackboard Learning Management System, and MyMathLab.
  • Evaluate student work, administer tests, and measure performance relative to course learning objectives.
  • Support student accommodations as outlined by the Office of Student Success, Disability Services.
  • Complete accurate and timely student record keeping, including grades and attendance.
  • Post grades as required by the Registrar following university procedures and policies.
  • Maintain timely and professional communication with students and staff.
  • Interact with students positively, listen effectively, and address subject-matter questions.
  • Perform departmental assessment for SACSCOC.
  • Administer final exams according to university guidelines.
  • Exercise independent judgment and maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
  • Uphold and abide by Campbell University policies and procedures, including Title IX, FERPA, and other state and federal regulations.
  • Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

  • M.A. or M.S. in Mathematics, or a Master’s degree in a related field with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in mathematics.
  • Teaching experience at the college level preferred.

Skills

  • Ability to teach mathematics within departmental practices and guidelines.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with computers and adaptability to new and emerging technology.
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn Blackboard Learning Management System.
  • Ability to adapt to changing student needs.
  • Tact, positive attitude, courtesy, and discretion in interactions with faculty, staff, students, and the public.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a diverse team.
  • Accuracy, honesty, integrity, and alignment with the Christian mission of Campbell University.
