Adjunct Instructor of Kinesiology, Health Promotion & Recreation

The Kinesiology, Health Promotion & Recreation Department at the University of North Texas seeks qualified individuals for adjunct instructor positions. Positions are available for the Fall 2026, Spring 2027, and Summer 2027 semesters.

About the Role

This is a part-time position with varying FTE based on assignments. Courses taught may vary from semester to semester and depend on departmental teaching needs. The location of course offerings will be at the Denton Campus.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and/or graduate level courses in Kinesiology, Health Promotion, and Recreation, Event and Sport Management, or related fields.
• Develop and maintain effective communication with students and colleagues.
• Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to curriculum development.
• Maintain current knowledge of research and pedagogical methods relevant to the field.

Requirements

• A Master's degree in Kinesiology, Health Promotion, or a related field to teach at the undergraduate level.
• A Ph.D. (or equivalent) to teach at the graduate level.
• Previous undergraduate or graduate level teaching experience in Kinesiology/Health Behavior, Fitness/Recreation, Event and Sport Management, or a related field.

Qualifications

• Must have a Master's degree in area of teaching to teach at the undergraduate level and a Ph.D (or equivalent) to teach at the graduate level.
• Preferred qualifications include previous undergraduate or graduate level teaching experience in Kinesiology/Health Behavior, Fitness/Recreation, Event and Sport Management, or experience in a related field.
