Adjunct Instructor of Horn
Florida Atlantic University’s Department of Music is part of a comprehensive R1 research university serving more than 30,000 students across South Florida. About the role
This part-time position will provide applied instruction to undergraduate and graduate students majoring in music.
Responsibilities
- Teach weekly 50-minute applied lessons in Horn.
- Teach a weekly 50-minute studio class for all Horn students.
- Recruit and retain outstanding students to the Department of Music.
- Assist with student auditions, placement hearings, and juries as requested.
- Collaborate with faculty and ensemble directors to support student artistic development.
- Maintain regular communication with students and submit grades and assessments in accordance with university policies.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Music or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated success as a performer and teacher of Horn.
Qualifications
- Doctoral degree in Music.
- College-level teaching experience.
- Evidence of successful student recruitment and mentorship.
