About the role

The Department of Modern Languages & Literatures at Union College is seeking candidates for an open position of Adjunct Instructor in Arabic to teach Basic Arabic 1 course this Fall 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Basic Arabic 1 course in person on a Monday-Wednesday-Friday schedule with 65-minute class sessions over a 10-week term, including an additional week for scheduled exams.
  • Schedule 3 office hours per week.
  • Teach according to the course syllabus and assignments provided by the department.

Requirements

  • Minimum a Master’s degree in Arabic or a closely-related field.
  • Experience in teaching college-level courses.
  • Native or near-native proficiency in Arabic.

Qualifications

  • Submit a CV and any other information about Arabic language teaching experience (e.g., sample syllabi, sample assignments).
