Adjunct Instructor - Non-Union - Pharmacy Tech

About the role

Responsibilities

• Create courses aligned with learning outcomes and promote student active participation.
• Foster a learning environment that encourages students' intellectual curiosity and problem-solving using discipline-specific thinking strategies.
• Employ various formative and summative assessments to ensure classroom instruction leads to student learning and attainment of course learning outcomes.
• Help students achieve academic, personal, and career goals while fostering a safe environment that respects diversity and promotes collaboration and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Must be a licensed pharmacist in Illinois OR a nationally certified pharmacy technician with an Illinois Pharmacy Technician License.
• Have at least 3 years of experience in pharmacy practice.
• Teaching experience preferred - either higher education or high school levels.
• Knowledge of Brightspace Learning Management System or similar Learning Management System, preferred.
• Prior experience with online teaching (via Zoom) and/or online teaching certification is strongly preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to communicate with diverse groups of staff and students.
• Experience with a diverse, multi-lingual student population is desired, as is a commitment to the open access mission of the community college.
