About the role
The Adjunct Instructor will teach Medical-Surgical courses within the School of Nursing at Malcolm X College.
Responsibilities
- Create courses aligned with learning outcomes and promote active student participation.
- Foster an effective learning environment that encourages intellectual curiosity and problem-solving.
- Use a variety of assessments to evaluate student progress and ensure alignment with learning outcomes.
- Support students in achieving their academic, personal, and career goals while maintaining a respectful and inclusive classroom environment.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the academic and professional development of students and foster a supportive community.
Qualifications
- Pursuant to the City Colleges of Chicago Credential Guidelines for the 2024/25 Academic Year.
- A Master’s Degree in Nursing or related field.
- Knowledge of Blackboard Learning Management System, preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work with a diverse group of staff and students.
- Experience working with a diverse, multilingual student population is desired, along with a commitment to the college's open access mission.
