About the role

Ivy Tech Community College of Evansville is searching for high-quality adjunct faculty to offer instruction for the Medical Assisting program. This is an in-person role located on the Evansville, IN campus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all instructional duties necessary to teach and facilitate student learning in assigned classes.
  • Provide syllabus appropriate to course(s) being taught to students and follows syllabus content and requirements.
  • Maintain student attendance and grading records according to College policy as outlined in the Adjunct Handbook.
  • Sets deadlines for submission of requested information.
  • Available to students outside scheduled class time to answer questions/provide assistance.
  • Deal with student concerns and, if necessary, consult with program coordinator to resolve issues.
  • Meet all scheduled classes of contracted course(s).
  • Use technology such as Blackboard, Canva, PowerPoint, etc. as appropriate.
  • In event of emergency absence, notifies program/department chair.
  • Conduct all activities with an appreciation and respect for diversity of people, styles, and views.
  • Promote same as an integral part of one's work.

Requirements

  • Possesses an earned associate degree from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Holds a professional certification in the field.
  • Minimum of one year of related work experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience providing instruction at a post-secondary institute.

  • Ability to create a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals.
  • Ability to provide effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided by the School.

Pay

Hiring Range: $45.00 per contact hour (approximately $2,160 per 8-week course).

Schedule

This role would start in August and run during the fall term. Many of these classes will run during daytime hours.
