Adjunct Instructor - Mathematics

Tarleton State University, a distinguished Doctoral National Comprehensive University, invites applications for the position of Adjunct Instructor in the Department of Mathematics. This role supports the university's growing student enrollment for the 2026-2027 Academic Year at our Stephenville campus.
Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver lectures, seminars, and/or laboratory offerings to undergraduate and/or graduate students.
- Select instructional materials and design assessments such as exams, quizzes, papers, etc.
- Audit student performance, provide timely feedback, and evaluate student learning outcomes.
- Engage students in active learning, foster critical thinking skills, and provide opportunities for discussion, collaboration, and hands-on learning.
- Provide academic support and guidance to students through office hours, feedback on assignments, and mentoring.
- Adhere to university policies, academic integrity standards, and accreditation requirements related to teaching responsibilities.
- Incorporate innovative teaching methods, technologies, and pedagogical approaches to enhance student learning and engagement.
- Serve as a Campus Security Authority (CSA).
Requirements
- Earned masters degree in Mathematics or a closely related field from an accredited university with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Earned doctorate/terminal degree in Mathematics or a closely related field from an accredited university with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline.
- Previous online teaching experience at the collegiate level.
Skills
- Knowledge and understanding of disciplinary subject matter at a level adequate for undergraduate and graduate-level instruction.
- Ability to interact with students, staff, and faculty in a professional, collegial, and collaborative manner.

These part-time Adjunct Faculty positions are designed to support our growing student enrollment for the 2026-2027 Academic Year at our Stephenville campus. Successful candidates may teach up to six (6) semester credit hours in their respective disciplines, delivering instruction in person, through approved instructional modalities, or as necessitated by student demand.
