About the role
This position is designated as a security sensitive position and requires a satisfactory criminal history background check. Males between the ages of 18 through 25 must be properly registered with the Selective Service System to be eligible for employment.
Responsibilities
- Teaching courses in the approved discipline
- Providing instruction to facilitate student acquisition of the specific learning outcomes identified for the assigned courses
- Mentoring students inside and outside of the classroom
- Create and maintain an effective learning environment in the modalities of the courses assigned
- Provide instruction in both traditional and non-traditional learning modes
- Engage in instructional preparation
- Provide timely feedback to students and respond to student communications in a timely manner
- Assessment of student performance; including submission of final grades in a timely fashion
- Maintain ethical and professional behavior
- Be available to students by appointment
- Attend adjunct faculty meetings
- Assess courses on departmental and institutional levels
- Complete any required training
- Other related duties, as assigned
Requirements
- Minimum Southern Association of Colleges and Schools credential standards for faculty teaching courses designed for workforce certificate or degree completion, including an appropriate academic degree and demonstrated competencies in the teaching discipline
- Experience in Manual & CNC Programming/Machining, including use of precision measuring instruments and shop safety
Qualifications
- Associate degree and/or 2-5 years work experience in the field of study
- Bachelor’s degree and/or 6-10 years work experience in the field of study and/or credentialed in the field of study
- Master’s degree and/or 11-15 years work experience in the field of study and/or credentialed in the field of study
- Doctorate degree and/or 16+ years work experience in the field of study and/or credentialed in the field of study
Skills
- Instruct in face-to-face, hybrid, online, and dual credit courses
- Provide instruction that achieves specific goals and objectives associated with all assigned courses
- Create a professional and effective learning environment in the classroom and/or laboratory
- Communicate effectively with students, college personnel and administration, peers and public groups
- Treat all persons with respect, dignity and justice, without discrimination based upon age, sex, race, color, religion, national origin, disability, veteran status, genetic information, sexual orientation or gender identity
- Exercise the highest professional and ethical standards in the use of College time and resources
- Observe the stated policies and procedures of the College
