Adjunct Instructor in Chemistry
About the role
The Chemistry Department at Hendrix College seeks applications for an Adjunct Instructor of Chemistry to teach one section of CHEM 101: Chemistry of the Environment, and one section of CHEM 110: General Chemistry I, in the fall semester of the 2026-27 academic year. The instruction of these courses takes place on campus and meets three one-hour sessions per week.
Responsibilities
- Teach CHEM 101: Chemistry of the Environment and CHEM 110: General Chemistry I
- Provide reasonable office hours to support student learning
Requirements
- A master’s degree or higher is required
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a strong background in chemistry and experience teaching at the college level. Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate a commitment to teaching in a liberal arts environment.
Skills
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with students and colleagues are essential.
