About the Role
This position is responsible for delivering quality instruction in Health Sciences Core and Medical Terminology using integrative technologies.
Responsibilities
- Teach courses via on-ground, online, hybrid, or web-enhanced modalities as assigned.
- Teach evening, weekend, off-campus, dual enrollment, and distance-based courses as required.
- Submit or update class syllabus at least 2 weeks prior to the first day of class or within seven days of contract execution.
- Regularly check VSCC email and departmental mailbox; respond to emails/messages within 48 hours (except on weekends).
- Submit final grades for each semester by the deadline established by the Registrar.
- Complete required College trainings, reports (attendance, Early Alerts, progress reports, grade submissions), and surveys by deadlines.
- Notify the Department Chair as soon as possible if unable to teach a class.
- Attend meetings as requested by the Department Chair and/or Dean.
- Comply with all College and TBR policies and guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum: Associate's Degree in a Health Sciences-related field from an accredited institution.
- Preferred: Collegiate-level teaching experience.
Skills
- Knowledge and/or experience using a variety of instructional delivery modes.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Pay
$675 - $800 per credit hour.
Schedule
Teaching assignments are on a term-by-term basis, which may include fall, spring, and summer semesters. This posting is for on-ground classes.
