About the role
This position is designated as a security sensitive position and requires a satisfactory criminal history background check. Males between the ages of 18 through 25 must be properly registered with the Selective Service System to be eligible for employment.
Responsibilities
- Teach courses in the approved discipline
- Provide instruction to facilitate student acquisition of the specific learning outcomes identified for the assigned courses
- Mentor students inside and outside of the classroom
- Create and maintain an effective learning environment in the modalities of the courses assigned
- Engage in instructional preparation
- Provide timely feedback to students and respond to student communications in a timely manner
- Assess student performance; including submission of final grades in a timely fashion
- Maintain ethical and professional behavior
- Be available to students by appointment
- Attend adjunct faculty meetings
- Audit courses on departmental and institutional levels
- Complete any required training
- Other related duties, as assigned
Requirements
- Minimum of 5-years experience in working with Hydraulic/Pneumatic Systems
- Demonstrate the ability to instruct in face-to-face, hybrid, online, and dual credit courses
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, college personnel and administration, peers and public groups
- Ability to treat all persons with respect, dignity and justice, without discrimination based upon age, sex, race, color, religion, national origin, disability, veteran status, genetic information, sexual orientation or gender identity
- Ability to exercise the highest professional and ethical standards in the use of College time and resources
- Ability to observe the stated policies and procedures of the College
Qualifications
- Minimum Southern Association of Colleges and Schools credential standards for faculty teaching courses designed for workforce certificate or degree completion
- Associate degree and/or 2-5 years work experience in the field of study
- Bachelor’s degree and/or 6-10 years work experience in the field of study and/or credentialed in the field of study
- Master’s degree and/or 11-15 years work experience in the field of study and/or credentialed in the field of study
- Doctorate degree and/or 16+ years work experience in the field of study and/or credentialed in the field of study
Skills
- Ability to instruct in face-to-face, hybrid, online, and dual credit courses

Schedule
Hours vary, depending on the need and course schedule, and may include day, evening, and/or weekend instruction.
